Amerikanska jurister kräver stopp för vapen till Israel

Fler än 90 jurister, varav 20 jobbar inom den amerikanske presidenten Joe Bidens administration, kräver att USA slutar leverera vapen till Israel, rapporterar Politico. Detta eftersom de anser att Israels krig i Gaza bryter mot amerikansk och internationell lag.

I ett gemensamt brev som de kommande dagarna kommer att skickas till justitieminister Merrick Garland skriver de att Israels agerande bland annat är ett brott mot Genèvekonventionens skrivningar som förbjuder oproportionerliga attacker mot civila.

Brevet är ett i raden av tecken på att stödet för USA:s linje när det gäller förhållandet till Israel blir allt svagare även i kretsar nära president Biden, skriver nyhetssajten.
