news one mobile number used for multiple patients, fake tests | big ‘expose’ on aap’s health model

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP’s) Mohallah clinic and two private labs are under the scanner for fake tests in Delhi. One of them is the Mumbai-based Metropolis lab which also has a branch in Delhi. In a big expose by Times Now on the AAP government’s health model, it was found that thousands of tests were registered on just one mobile number.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) revealed that fake lab tests were done on phantom patients in the national capital and the loss was in crores. These tests were done on patients registered either on invalid numbers or mobile numbers not related to them.

Times Now spoke to people whose numbers were mentioned in the ACB report. While few said that someone misused their number and committed fraud, while others working as lab assistants in the Mohalla Clinic, Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, IBHAS in Dilshad Garden and other hospitals said that Metropolis lab asked them to put their own numbers for patients coming for tests.

Times Now report:

When an inquiry was initiated, the lab directed hospitals to put only numbers given by patients. A person named Ashok Kumar, who works in Rajiv Gandhi Hospital, confirms that Metropolis lab asked him to put his number for patients. It was found that 2,399 tests were conducted on his number.

Similarly, another woman, whose number is used for conducting 711 tests told Times Now that she got tests done only five to six times and had no idea how her number was used for other patients.
