All that happened on the premiere episode of Ranveer Singh's The Big Picture

Asia's Tech News Daily

Ranveer Singh makes his TV debut with The Big Picture.

After a long wait, Ranveer Singh’s The Big Picture aired on television on Saturday, October 16. After top Bollywood stars such as Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan, now Ranveer has also forayed into the TV world, and he sure is making a mark there. The premiere episode of the show looked both promising and entertaining, and we can safely say that it is already a hit reality show. Ranveer made an entry into the show in his own dashing style. He then explained the rules of the show to the contestants. Similar to Kaun Banega Crorepati, the contestants are asked questions that pops up on ‘Screenika’, as Ranveer likes to call it. If they give the correct answer, they will win an amount that can go upto Rs 5 crore. The only twist is that it is a visual-based quiz reality show and contestants are asked questions based on an image.

The Big Picture marks the television debut of Bollywood star Ranveer Singh. One of the best things on the show was Ranveer’s camaraderie with the contestants. Karishma Toor, a police constable from Haryana, appeared as the first contestant on The Big Picture. She managed to take home a handsome amount of Rs 20 lakh. She wants to build a house for her family and save enough for her wedding with the prize money. Karishma showed a lot of confidence while answering some critical questions without using lifelines.

Ranveer Singh also gave a sweet surprise to Karishma. He was seen talking about her family and wishing them a better life. Midway in the conversation, the contestant revealed to Ranveer how she loves running. The actor took note of this and after the quiz, he presented her with a pair of new running shoes. He even helped her put on the shoes by going down on his knee.

During the episode, Ranveer said that he credits all his success to his wife Deepika Padukone. He said that he carried this luck for his TV debut on The Big Picture as well. When Karishma Toor correctly answered a dance-related question, Ranveer also performed garba with her on Deepika’s famous song, Nagada Sang Dhol, from their movie Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela.

The second contestant to join Ranveer Singh after Karishma was Abhay Singh, a teacher from Uttar Pradesh. The Simmba actor told Abhay that he is jealous of his good looks. It was a fun moment as the contestant gave the actor some lessons of the local UP lingo.

During the show, Ranveer Singh also revealed that he has been scouting for baby names. “2- 3saalonmeinhamarebhibacchehonge! Abhay,Bhaisaabaapkibhabhiitnicute babythina, mujhebas koiaisidedetohlife set hojaaye! (In two-three years, we will also have a baby. Abhay, your sister-in-law was such a cute baby. My life will be sorted if I have a baby like her).”

He added, “Main shortlist kar raha hun baby names. Agar aap mind nahi karengay, toh yeh leelun main Shuryaveer Singh! (I am shortlisting baby names. If you don’t mind, can I take Shuryaveer Singh).”

In all, the first episode of The Big Picture was a great start to a glorious season ahead.

The Big Picture is quiz show which will test the knowledge and visual memory of the contestants. With the help of three lifelines, the contestants will be required to correctly answer twelve visual-based questions and walk away with the grand prize money. The interactive format of the show will also allow the viewers to play from the comfort of their homes. The show will air on Colors TV on weekends at 8 pm. The show is produced by Banijay Asia and ITV Studios Global Entertainment BV.
