Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies, according to PAGASA’s weather bulletin on Saturday afternoon.

PAGASA said that the Easterlies continue to affect parts of the country, as some areas may also experience isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms.

The weather bureau added that flash floods during severe thunderstorms are possible.

Meanwhile, light to moderate wind speeds are expected in Northern Luzon and the rest of the country.

Coastal waters are slight to moderate from 0.6 to 2.1 meters.

Sunrise will be at 5:44 a.m.

Heat Index

PAGASA reported that the heat index six areas in the country rose to “dangerous levels.”

These areas were:

Dagupan City, Pangasinan: 42°C

Aparri, Cagayan: 43°C

Sangley Point, Cavite: 42°C

Puerto Princesa City, Palawan: 43°C

Aborlan, Palawan: 43°C

Zamboanga City, Zamboange del Sur: 42°C

Based on the heat index chart, the public is advised to take extreme caution as some people may experience heat cramps and heat exhaustion and continuing activity could lead to heat stroke.

Heat index is the measure of the temperature that a person feels, which is different from the actual air temperature, according to PAGASA. It is computed by factoring in the humidity as well as air temperature.

  • Limit the time outdoors
  • Drink plenty of water
  • Avoid tea, coffee, soda or liquor
  • Wear umbrellas, hats, sleeved clothing outdoors
  • Schedule heavy-duty activities at start or end of the day when it’s cooler
