Apple’s Let Loose event, though not quite live, packed a punch with significant announcements. Both the iPad Air and iPad Pro received upgrades, particularly in screen size. The iPad Pro, renowned for its premium status, underwent a notable transformation. While its appearance remains largely unchanged, it’s now lighter and thinner. The 11-inch variant measures a mere 5.1mm thick, making it Apple’s slimmest offering yet. Its larger 13-inch counterpart, only slightly bigger than the previous Pro, comes in at 5.3mm. Notably, both models boast the new M4 chipset and an impressive OLED display, with prices starting at Rs 99,900 in India.

Meanwhile, the iPad Air also received a revamp, featuring the speedier M2 chipset. Although its design remains familiar, it now offers a larger 13-inch option. Additionally, Apple has generously doubled the base storage to 128GB, much to the delight of iPad enthusiasts. The revamped iPad Air starts at Rs 59,900 in India, promising enhanced performance and storage capabilities.

While Apple has refreshed the iPad Air and the iPad Pro lineup, the existing iPads have officially received a price cut post the launch of the new ones. So, let’s take a look at Apple’s current iPad lineup in India along with their prices.

iPad Pro M4, M2

Apple has launched the iPad Pro in two different sizes including the 11-inch and 13-inch. Notably, Apple had previously introduced Pro with 12.9 screen size but this is the first time a Pro model has been introduced in 13-inch. The iPads feature Tandem OLED screens with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits peak brightness, and support for True Tone and P3 wide color gamut.

The iPad Pro (2024) is powered by its latest 10-core M4 chip. It has been positioned as the most powerful tablet in the company’s lineup. This chip, surpassing the M3 chips in Apple’s MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, offers performance comparable to the M2 chip in the 2022 iPad Pro while consuming half the power. Enhancements have been made to the Neural Engine for on-device AI tasks.Â

The iPad Pro starts at a price of Rs 99,900 for the 11-inch variant. The 13-inch variant will sell at a starting price of Rs 1,49,900.

Apple has discontinued the 12.9-inch pro models.

iPad Air M2 chip 

Apple has launched the iPad Air in two different sizes— the 11-inch display and the 13-inch display. The new line-up of iPad Air is powered by the M2 chipset, the same chip which powers the MacBook Air. Apple says the new chip is 50 per cent faster than the M1 chip in the previous models.Â

The new iPad Air is available in blue and purple colourways, along with starlight and space grey. The 11-inch iPad Air starts at Rs 59,900, and the 13-inch iPad Air has a price of Rs 79900. The iPad Air can be ordered in India today, whereas the deliveries and physical sale will start from May 15.

Notably, Apple has silently discontinued the iPad Air 5 model. However, you can still get it on the e-commerce platforms.

iPad 10th generation 

The iPad 10th generation, which was launched in 2022, has received a price cut post the launch of the new iPad Air 2024 and the iPad Pro 2024. The iPad 10th gen is now down to Rs 34,990 on the official website of Apple. During the Amazon and Flipkart sale, the device was being sold for Rs 31,990. It is a good device for anybody looking tablets for entertainment purposes.

iPad mini

Apple is still selling the iPad mini, which was launched in 2021. It is the smallest iPad in the entire line-up measuring only at 8.3-inch display. There has been no significant price drop in the iPad mini, the device is still being sold for Rs  of Rs 46900 and Wi-Fi + Cellular models start at Rs 60900. The iPad mini, in 64GB and 256GB configurations, comes in pink, starlight, purple, and space grey finishes.
