Erik ten Hag has confirmed Manchester United trio Andre Onana, Rasmus Hojlund and Luke Shaw could all be available for Sunday’s trip to Everton.

Hojlund injured his hamstring against Luton before the international break, and had initially been ruled out for this weekend’s trip.

However, the Dane has made a rapid recovery and was able to train outside today. He will undergo a late fitness test to determine his availability.

Onana suffered a lower back injury on international duty with Cameroon, and was forced to pull out of their squad.

However, the goalkeeper trained today and is fit.

Shaw has been out for three months but has trained well for the last fortnight and will be in the matchday squad.

‘Andre is okay. He stepped in training today, he’s good,’ said Ten Hag.

‘Rasmus: still is a close finish. He’s training, he finished outside, making very good steps and we have to wait until tomorrow and we will make a final decision.

‘Luke Shaw will be available for Sunday, he will be in the squad. To Jonny [Evans]: he’s on the way back, he’s not ready for Everton, he will not take long.’

Asked specifically about Shaw’s return, Ten Hag said the defender will make United ‘more stable’.

‘You can mention many things – physical, technical ability, it’s clear,’ said Ten Hag.

‘Long time this season we didn’t have a left full-back. Very happy he is back. He will help us be more stable.’
