Eine Mehrheit der Schweizerinnen und Schweizer möchte nicht, dass die Bundesrichterinnen und -richter künftig per Los bestimmt werden. Die Justizinitiative wird mit rund zwei Drittel der Stimmen abgelehnt (zum Ticker).

Trotz des klaren Ausgangs will Initiant Adrian Gasser alles andere als klein beigeben. Der Unternehmer bezeichnet das Resultat als «vollen Erfolg», denn jetzt habe das Volk zum ersten Mal etwas gehört von der fehlenden Gewaltentrennung zwischen Politik und Justiz in der Schweiz. Allerdings habe sein Komitee zu wenig Zeit gehabt, um eingehender über die Missstände aufzuklären.

Gasser zeigt sich überzeugt, dass mit besserer Aufklärung eine Annahme des Anliegens möglich gewesen wäre – und möglich sein wird. Er kündigt gleich einen für die schweizerische Demokratie ungewöhnlichen Schritt an: «Wir werden die Initiative nochmals lancieren.»

Auf Nachfrage sagt der 78-Jährige, dass dies in mehr oder weniger identischer Form geschehen wird. Gasser will also auch das Losverfahren nochmals zur Abstimmung bringen, das die Gegner als «Lotterie» bezeichnet haben.

Happige Vorwürfe an SRG

Dem Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen wirft Gasser vor, nicht ausgewogen über die Initiative berichtet zu haben – und so die Konzession verletzt zu haben. Deshalb will er die SRG nun boykottieren, indem er den Sendern keine Interviews und Statements abgibt. Am Abstimmungssonntag gebe er nur privaten Medien Auskunft, sagt Gasser. In der TV-Sendung «Arena» zur Initiative hatte er kürzlich noch teilgenommen – und seiner Seite war gleich viel Redezeit eingeräumt worden wie der Gegnerschaft um Justizministerin Karin Keller-Sutter.
