The Star & Garter Hotel in Linlithgow is looking for a new tenant

A historic West Lothian hotel has hit the market in search of a new tenant.

The Star & Garter Hotel in Linlithgow is hoping that the new tenant will be able to turn the venue back into the “successful trading business that it once was.”

Available for a leasehold price of £1,000 and a rent price of £50,000, the venture is perfect for those looking to enter into the hospitality industry.

The “three story mansion“ comes with five en-suite rooms and an 100 cover bar and restaurant after being transformed into a coaching inn in 1847.

As written within the listing on RightBiz, the sellers said that the business will suit either a team or an individual tenant.

The listing reads: “This three-storey Georgian mansion has been present since the creation of Linlithgow in 1759. It wasn’t until 1847 that it was transformed into a coaching inn and named the Star & Garter.

“100 cover bar & restaurant, 30 cover cafe to the rear, five en-suite rooms, function hall with own bar, external cobbled beer garden space to the side of the property, fully fitted commercial kitchen on the ground floor, dumbwaiter to service the café, brand new FRI lease, landlord investment also possible for the right operator and 5 private parking spaces to the rear.

“Suited to an operator with experience in food and drink trade, a dynamic team or individual with an eye for quality and detail to bring The Star back to the successful trading business it once was.”
