Abgewählter Multimilliardär: Babis will Machtübergabe in Tschechien nicht blockieren

Eine Woche nach der Parlamentswahl in Tschechien scheint sich Ministerpräsident Andrej Babis mit seiner Niederlage abgefunden zu haben.

«Wir übergeben (die Amtsgeschäfte) an die neue Koalition und werden in der Opposition sein», sagte der Gründer der populistischen Partei ANO am Freitag im Radiosender Frekvence 1. Das Land brauche eine funktionsfähige Regierung. «Ich weiss nicht, warum wir in dieser Situation eine Blockadehaltung einnehmen sollten», sagte der 67 Jahre alte Multimilliardär. Als Opposition werde seine Partei «hart, aber korrekt» agieren.

Die Entscheidung, wer den Auftrag zur Regierungsbildung erhält, liegt letztlich bei Präsident Milos Zeman. Doch der 77-Jährige befindet sich weiter auf der Intensivstation eines Krankenhauses in Behandlung. Über seinen Gesundheitszustand ist nichts Genaues bekannt. Zeman gilt als enger Verbündeter von Babis.

Das neugewählte Abgeordnetenhaus trifft am 8. November zu seiner ersten Sitzung zusammen. Zwei liberal-konservative Oppositionsbündnisse kommen nach der Wahl vom 8. und 9. Oktober gemeinsam auf eine klare Mehrheit von 108 der 200 Sitze. Die ANO-Bewegung von Babis erhält 72 Sitze und ist damit stärkste Einzelpartei. Babis hielt es daher bis vor kurzem für möglich, selbst den Regierungsauftrag zu erhalten. (SDA)
