I'll be back to hand over my devices, says Chegubard after giving statement to MACC
CYBERJAYA: I will be back to hand over my devices to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), says Badrul Hisham Shaharin.
Chegubard, as he is better known, was met by reporters outside the MCMC headquarters here after an almost three-hour session.
He said that while he did not personally agree to the need to hand over his devices, he would nevertheless agree to the request.
“I will do so by tonight or early morning tomorrow,” he said.
He also said that there shouldn’t be a need to take his devices since he has admitted to uploading the social media postings that were being investigated by the MCMC.
Political influencer Mohamad Salim Iskandar, who was also summoned, was seen leaving the office at around 5.30pm while Badrul came out around an hour later.
Both said that they had been called in regarding posts that queried the health of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim following photos of the Prime Minister that they said showed various signs of illness.
“We mean no ill will. We as Malaysians are just concerned,” Salim said.
