Lamborghini Temerario: ‘Amazing’ PHEV supercar being revealed at Pebble Beach

There’s a new Lamborghini supercar coming. The Huracan has officially been put out to pasture with the ultra-limited STJ revealed earlier this week, and its replacement is set for reveal this year.

Lamborghini APAC director Francesco Scardaoni told CarExpert there still isn’t much he’s willing to share about the new supercar… but offered a few tasty hints to whet our appetite about what’s to come.

“We believe it will be another icon in the lineup of Lamborghini. The car will be officially introduced and presented this year at Pebble Beach, so August, and we believe we that can make a big blast because the car looks amazing,” he said.

“Many of our partners had the chance to see the car, and we got extremely amazing feedback.”

Speaking at the Melbourne Grand Prix, Mr Scardaoni hinted at deliveries kicking off in 2025 for the new Ferrari 296 GTB rival.

“By 2024, all of our product will be presented as hybrid. From 2025, we will start deliveries of all our hybrid products to continue through 2026 and 2027,” he said.

We’ve already seen the car, which is expected to be called the Temerario, running around in various states of undress.

Its styling is markedly different to the Huracan, and is likely to be differentiated from the new V12 Revuelto – just as the Huracan and Aventador were meaningfully different to look at.

“It’s important to differentiate the different product lines,” Mr Scardaoni said. “Each car has a mission … all of them are different in terms of design and mission.

“For the [Huracan] successor it will be a different design language – of course it will be Lamborghini design language.”

We know the new car will be a plug-in hybrid; Mr Scardaoni confirmed as much during our interview. But we don’t know exactly what form it’ll take, and whether the V10 will live on.

Multiple reports suggest it’ll be a twin-turbo V8, but a bespoke setup instead of a version of the 4.0-litre turbo PHEV system used in Porsche models and the Lamborghini Urus SUV.
