81 peratus pelajar UMS lengkap vaksin kembali ke kampus

Kota Kinabalu: Seramai lebih 81 peratus pelajar Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) yang sudah menerima dos lengkap vaksin akan kembali mengikuti sesi pengajian di kampus bermula 15 Oktober ini.

Naib Canselor UMS, Prof Datuk Dr Taufiq Yap Yun Hin berkata ia selaras dengan pengumuman Menteri Pengajian Tinggi Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad mengenai kebenaran pelajar Institut Pengajian Tinggi Awam (IPTA) lengkap vaksin kembali ke kampus baru-baru ini.

“Kita juga sudah menghubungi pelajar yang masih belum divaksin supaya berbuat demikian secepat mungkin.

“Bagi mereka yang berada di sekitar Kota Kinabalu, boleh datang terus ke Pusat Pemberian Vaksin (PPV) Institusi Pengajian Tinggi (IPT) UMS.

“Bagi pelajar yang berada di Semenanjung dan Sarawak, kita bekerjasama dengan semua PPV IPT dan mereka boleh mendapatkan vaksin di sana ataupun PPV di bawah Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia (KKM).

“Semua kakitangan pentadbiran dan akademik termasuk pekerja luar seperti pihak pembekal dan mereka yang kerap berurusan di dalam universiti juga telah menerima vaksin bagi mengelakkan berlakunya penularan kes Covid-19 di dalam kampus,” katanya dalam satu kenyataan media yang dikeluarkan, hari ini.

Dalam pada itu, Taufiq turut berkata pihaknya sudah bersiap sedia dengan pelan pematuhan prosedur operasi standard (SOP) mengikuti ketetapan pihak berkuasa agar sesi pembelajaran dan pengajaran dibuat secara selamat.

“Buat permulaan, pihak UMS akan memberi keutamaan kepada pelajar yang bekeperluan khas.

“Antaranya, mereka yang tinggal di pendalaman dan mempunyai isu capaian talian internet, isu keterbatasan peranti dan isu ketidakmampuan pelajar membeli kapasiti data yang diperlukan,” katanya.

Mengulas lanjut, Taufiq berkata pelajar yang dibenarkan untuk memasuki kampus akan diberikan surat pengesahan keperluan kembali ke UMS.

“Surat ini adalah untuk kegunaan pelajar, sebagai dokumen pembuktian memohon kebenaran rentas daerah atau negeri daripada pihak berkuasa.

“Apabila berada di dalam kampus, pelajar akan sentiasa diingatkan untuk merujuk dan mematuhi peraturan dan SOP yang ditetapkan sama ada di kolej kediaman, di kawasan fakulti serta kawasan lain,” katanya.
