Police closed the road for four-and-a-half hours for an investigation
A motorcyclist was taken to hospital suffering from serious injuries after he hit a fallen tree on an unnamed road in a village near Exeter.
The man was riding a Yamaha motorcycle when the accident happened close to the Burrow Cross junction in Broadclyst just before 07:00 GMT on Monday.
The rider, a man in his 20s from Exeter, remains in hospital, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
The road was closed for about four-and-a-half hours, police added.
Officers from the Roads Policing Team are investigating the accident, which happened between 06:45 and 06:55 GMT, and have appealed for witnesses to contact them.
