50 candidatos optan al Premio Princesa de Asturias de las Artes

Oviedo (España), 23 abr (EFE).- Los miembros del jurado que fallará este miércoles el Premio Princesa de Asturias de las Artes comenzaron las deliberaciones hoy sin mostrar sus favoritos entre los más de cincuenta candidatos que optan al galardón, aunque sí reconocieron que los hay de talla mundial.

Tampoco se definieron abiertamente sobre la disciplina que querrían ver reconocida en esta edición, la cuadragésimo cuarta, después de que el pasado año el premio fuese para la actriz estadounidense Meryl Streep y, un año antes, para la cantaora de flamenco Carmen Linares y la bailaora María Pagés (España).

Según el presidente del jurado, el director del Museo de Bellas Artes de Bilbao, Miguel Zugaza, es el año con “mayor número de candidaturas, muy diversas, muy abiertas” y con un alto nivel.

Por este motivo, las deliberaciones van a ser muy interesantes para decidir entre las diferentes opciones del arte, “que no solo contempla las disciplinas más tradicionales”.

Arquitectura, arte, música, fotografía, música, teatro, danza o cine se encuentran representadas en la lista de candidatos, de la que solo ha trascendido la de la Comédie-Française de entre los catorce miembros que integran el jurado, que habitualmente evita dar nombres.

En ocasiones anteriores, el jurado premió la trayectoria de cineastas como Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola o Woody Allen, de músicos de la talla de Paco de Lucía y Bob Dylan o de arquitectos reconocidos como Norman Foster.

Según el director español de cine y guionista Sergio Gutiérrez Sánchez, dado que este premio es el más amplio de todos los Princesa de Asturias “hay que intentar repartir cada año” y más en una edición en la que hay “nombres muy potentes e increíbles, algunos de ellos que se van repitiendo año tras año”.

El Princesa de las Artes está destinado a reconocer “la labor de creación, cultivo y perfeccionamiento de la arquitectura, la cinematografía, la danza, la escultura, la fotografía, la música, la pintura, el teatro y otras manifestaciones artísticas”.

Y será el primero de los que ocho que conceda la Fundación Princesa de Asturias en la ciudad española de Oviedo durante las próximas semanas.

Los otros serán de Comunicación y Humanidades, Ciencias Sociales, Deportes, Letras, Cooperación Internacional, Investigación Científica y Técnica y Concordia.

El acto de entrega se celebra el mes de octubre en una solemne ceremonia presidida por los reyes de España en el Teatro Campoamor de Oviedo, acompañados de la princesa Leonor, heredera del trono, y su hermana, la infanta Sofía.
