MANILA, Philippines: Rain or Shine ended the elimination round with a 112-111 escape act against Converge on Sunday in their PBA Season 48 Commissioner’s Cup match at the Philsports Arena in Pasig.

The Elasto Painters closed the elims with six straights wins after dropping the first five games of the season. They enter the playoffs as the seventh seed.
Pending the TNT-Phoenix game also on Sunday, Rain or Shine could either face the Fuel Masters of the San Miguel Beermen in the quarterfinals.
Demetrius Treadwell led Rain or Shine with 21 points and 17 rebounds while Beau Belga added 19.
Guiao said after the game that winning by a hairline is a good experience for the team since that somehow simulates the playoffs.
“It’s a good thing the (win) was one point. This is something that you will experience or feel when you’re in the playoffs,” he said in Filipino.
“You need to know how to win in the endgame, and close out games. We need to experience pressure,” added Guiao.
The FiberXers closed the conference with a 1-10 card.
