4 p.m. Update: Severe thunderstorm warnings issued with winds of up to 70 mph
As we go forward here in time, this is about ready to cost the Catawba and it will bear its might over Charlotte over. Let’s see the Derida areas. South end included Derida, North Lake Mall, Forest, Pawtucket Olympic High School, the Toddville Communities, Oakdale, right over the Whitewater Center. That’s where this storm is going. It did have potential and it still does have the ability to produce a tornado, but we have nothing confirmed and we’re not seeing it on the radar. Either way you look at it, you’re talking about the winds, which are ferocious. Cutting through that, let’s see if we can show you the wind speeds coming out here. Let’s let’s show you this, See if I can get a better image here for you. There we go and highlight the winds that are coming out of this spot and you go about like I-85 and all the people that are stuck on this road dealing with some of these winds up across Stanley, 30 mile per hour winds. I’ve seen them as high as sixty. We may have backed off just a little bit up in this particular area. But you’re still getting some strong gusts of 30 to 40 and those could certainly bring some trees down.
