2025 Kia EV6: Imminent update teased with sharper styling
The Kia EV6’s mid-life update is right around the corner, with the Korean brand previewing a fresh look for the updated crossover.
Kia has teased the headlight and tail light design of the 2025 model in a pair of teaser images, with the changes appearing to align the EV6 more closely with newer Kia products.
The company confirmed earlier this year it will launch the updated EV6 in Korea in the second quarter of this year, with the facelifted EV6 GT following in the fourth quarter. Launch timing has yet to be confirmed for Australia.
As previously seen in spy photos of camouflaged vehicles, the EV6’s headlights sit lower and have a more triangular shape.

There’s also a revised grille, while we also expect there’ll be an updated front bumper.
Kia says the daytime running lights (DRLs) have its Star Map Signature lighting design, with a mix of horizontal and vertical elements “creating a more dynamic and future-oriented feeling”.
The angular DRLs align it more closely with the facelifted Picanto and Seltos.
Changes to the rear of the EV6 are more minor, with the thin, swooping light bar still the key design element.
The tail light graphics, however, appear to have been modernised and simplified, and it’s expected Kia will incorporate a fresh rear bumper.
Details haven’t yet been released on the EV6’s interior, but it’s likely it will adopt the new-generation ccNC infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Kia Australia has previously confirmed the introduction of the Kia Connect suite of connected services, which allows for remote access of vehicle functions.

Under the skin, it’s possible the EV6’s updates could mirror those applied to the Hyundai Ioniq 5, which shares the same dedicated electric E-GMP architecture.
The top-spec Ioniq 5 Extended Range has swapped its 77.4kWh lithium-ion battery pack for an 84.0kWh unit, although range figures haven’t yet been confirmed by Hyundai.
Hyundai has also made some tweaks to reduce noise and vibration, while also including the latest versions of the Hyundai Motor Group’s lane-keep assist and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
The EV6 launched in 2021 and arrived in Australia in 2022, with the flagship performance GT variant following in 2023.
