2025 Genesis GV80 Still Starts at $59K but Loses Standard Features
- The 2025 Genesis GV8o’s pricing is out, with the mid-size luxury SUV getting a strange change to the vehicle’s trim lineup.
- There’s a new entry-level GV80 called the 2.5T Standard, while the previous base 2.5T trim starts $1000 higher with a handful of additional features.
- Oddly enough, the barrier of entry stays the same between 2024 and 2025, with both base models carrying a starting price of $59,050.
Pricing is out for the 2025 Genesis GV80, and there’s something odd about it. The pricing itself isn’t all that newsworthy, as the barrier of entry holds steady at $59,050. What is odd is Genesis creating a new base model called the 2.5T Standard that supplants the previous 2.5T as the new entry point. The latter lacks features like a heated steering wheel, spare tire, manual rear sunshades, and access to Genesis’ digital key, which were previously standard fare on the entry GV80 but now essentially cost an extra $1000.

The rest of the lineup gets a light shakeup regarding naming conventions, with the Signature trim getting dropped for the new model year. As before, trim levels are split between the 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and the more potent twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6. In addition to the 2.5 Standard and 2.5T, the 2.5T Select costs $62,950 and adds a panoramic sunroof, wood trim, and larger wheels. The 2.5T Advanced brings the price up to $66,950 with nicer luxury amenities and more driver-assistance technology. The 2.5T Prestige starts at $71,800 and rounds out the base engine lineup.
Upgrading to the more powerful engine brings the price up to $75,150 with all the same goodies found in the 2.5T Advanced. The 3.5T Prestige rounds out the lineup, completing the set and carrying a price tag of $80,650. The top model gets everything found in the 3.5T Advanced while adding larger wheels, an electronic limited-slip differential, powered second-row seating, nicer materials, and three-zone climate control. According to Genesis, most GV80 trims will begin arriving at dealerships in the coming weeks, while the 2.5T Standard and 2.5T Select will arrive later this summer.
