2024 NFL draft pick order: Who has the first pick?
The offseason is rapidly approaching, with the NFL regular season in its final few weeks.
While some teams chase playoff places and a Super Bowl, others are already focusing on the offseason and the NFL Draft.
The 2024 NFL Draft takes place in Detroit, Michigan, and will offer teams the chance to rebuild their rosters. Teams will covet high-end picks in a draft class packed with top-tier prospects.
Here is the current NFL Draft order after 14 weeks of football.
1 – Chicago Bears (via Carolina Panthers 1-12)
The Chicago Bears currently hold the first overall pick in the NFL Draft. That is due to the Carolina Panthers’ league-worst 1-12 record and a trade that Carolina agreed with Chicago last year. Carolina sent their 2024 round-one pick to the Bears to trade up with Chicago for Bryce Young.
2 – New England Patriots 3-10
Despite beating the Pittsburgh Steelers in their last game, New England’s difficult season currently gives them the second overall pick. It would be the highest draft pick the Patriots have owned under Bill Belichick’s leadership.
3 – Arizona Cardinals 3-10
Arizona’s new GM and head coach would get a prized top-end pick to reload their roster.
4 – Washington Commanders 4-9
After four straight losses, Washington’s new owners will be entering the 2024 draft with a top prospect, currently the fourth pick.
5 – Chicago Bears 4-8
The Bears are back on the clock with their own pick. Owning two picks in the top five could turbocharge Chicago’s rebuild.
6 – New York Giants 5-8
The New York Giants have won three straight games, but they are still on course for a top 10 pick next year.
7 – Las Vegas Raiders 5-8
After failling to score a single point against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 13, the Raiders jump three places up the draft board to seventh.
8 – Tennessee Titans 5-8
A late comeback win in Week 13 stunend the Miami Dolphins, but the Titans’ troubles still look set to give them a top-ten pick for the first time since 2017.
9 – New York Jets 5-8
The returning Zack Wilson had one of his best games in the NFL in Week 13, as the Jets beat the Texans to drop down a place in next year’s draft order.
10 – Los Angeles Chargers 5-8
With Justin Herbert out for the rest of the season, the Chargers could continue to rise up the draft board with tough games still to come.
11 – New Orleans Saints 6-7
12 – Atlanta Falcons 6-7
13 – Seattle Seahawks 6-7
14 – Los Angeles Rams 6-7
15 – Arizona Cardinals (via Houston Texans 7-6)
16 – Buffalo Bills 7-6
17 – Denver Broncos 7-6
18 – Cincinnati Bengals 7-6
The other 14 franchises are currently set for a place in the 2023 playoff.
The order of the rest of the draft is determined by each teams success in the postseason, with those knocked out in the wildcard round next to pick and the eventual Super Bowl winners handed the 32nd pick.
