PETALING JAYA: Dua beradik maut selepas motosikal dinaiki mereka berlanggar dengan sebuah lori dalam kejadian di Jalan Kampung Pelandan-Cheting berhampiran Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Cheting, Kuala Berang, semalam.

Mangsa Muhammad Haiqal Abdullah, 18, dan adiknya, Muhammad Izman Hamidi, 16, disahkan meninggal dunia di lokasi kejadian kira-kira jam 2.45 petang itu.

Ketua Polis Daerah Hulu Terengganu Mohd Adli Mat Daud berkata, pemandu lori berusia 32 tahun sebelum itu dikatakan memberhentikan kenderaannya yang penuh dengan muatan sawit di bahu jalan untuk makan tengah hari.

“Sebaik selesai makan, pemandu terbabit mengundurkan kenderaan namun mangsa yang datang dari arah Cheting menghala ke Kampung Pelandan melanggar bucu kiri bahagian belakang lori berkenaan.

“Pemandu yang menyedari kejadian itu kemudian turun semula daripada kenderaan sebelum terkejut melihat mangsa terbaring di atas jalan dalam keadaan tidak bernyawa,” katanya menerusi kenyataan, menurut laporan Harian Metro.

Mohd Adli berkata, mayat kedua-dua mangsa dari Kampung Cheting, Tersat, di sini, dihantar ke Unit Forensik Hospital Hulu Terengganu (HHT) untuk bedah siasat.

Menurutnya, hasil bedah siasat mendapati mangsa maut akibat parah di kepala.

“Kes disiasat mengikut Seksyen 41(1) Akta Pengangkutan Jalan (APJ) 1987,” katanya.
