Camel Creek Adventure Park has announced it will reopen this Easter

A Cornish theme park that went into administration last year has announced it will be reopening next month. Camel Creek, based in Tredinnick near Wadebridge, has said it has also been granted planning permission for brand new attractions.

The three new attractions will include a nine-hole adventure golf course, almost 7,000 square feet of new rustic adventure play and an additional indoor play space and café concept. Themed around Cornwall’s famous myths and legends, the new attractions will open on March 23 when the park reopens after its winter refurbishment.

Graham Hayes, general manager of Camel Creek, said: “These new attractions are part of an entire park upgrade. We can’t wait to welcome back members, Cornwall families and holidaymakers when we open at Easter.”

The investment is part of a new development plan for Camel Creek. Shipwreck Shores will boast a nine-hole pirate-themed adventure golf course where every swing will bring visitors closer to uncovering the mysteries of Cornwall’s maritime history.

While with turrets, drawbridges and slides, Merlin’s Magical Playground will allow children to explore a wood-based outdoor adventure play area. Additionally, a new concept combining indoor play and a café within the Hidden Garden will provide a place for play and refreshments.

Camel Creek has been open to the public since 1989 and covers over 111 acres with over 40 rides and attractions. However, last year it appointed administrators from financial advisory firm Kroll.

The theme park then provided a statement before Christmas which said it would be closing for winter, but would reopen in March for the 2024 season. It is usually open all year round. The announcement was greeted with hope that the attraction could continue to open in the long run.
