How Kaizer Chiefs can cut costs by a whopping R22.8 Million a year

Kaizer Chiefs have some financial restructuring to do and that all starts with their inflated wage bill.

ICYMI: How Lorch almost ditched Orlando Pirates for Kaizer Chiefs

RUMOUR: South African Afcon star has an Italian Serie A proposal on the table

KAIZER CHIEFS: BEST MONTHLY SALARIES

  • Keagan Dolly – R1,4 Million
  • Itumeleng Khune – R480,000
  • Zitha Kwinika – R370,000
  • Ashley du Preez – R300,000
  • Yusuf Maart – R300,000

It’s easy to envisage a situation where both Khune and Dolly are no longer Chiefs players next season. That illustrates a level of money mismanagement by the club but also reveals an opportunity for them to considerably trim the wage bill as neither player has been an integral part of the starting XI for the last two campaigns. Taking R1.9 Million off their monthly costs frees up funds to find players who fit the club culture.
