Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Richard Ofori made his second start for Ghana at the 2023 AFCON tournament on Thursday night.

The towering goalkeeper was once again handed the captain’s armband at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny Stadium against Mohamed Salah’s Egypt.

Egypt managed to come-back twice to earn a hard-fought 2-2 draw against the ‘Black Stars’

Mohammed Kudus opened the scoring for Ghana on the stroke of half-time before Omar Marmoush levelled matters in the 69th minutes.

Kudus then completed his brace two minutes later however Mostafa Mohamed managed to salvage a point for the Pharaohs, 15 minutes before full-time.

In other news, Makhehlene Makhaula’s contract at Orlando Pirates comes to an end in June 2024.

The hard-tackling midfielder has struggled for game-time at the Buccaneers this season.

Makhaula has made just four substitute appearances for Orlando Pirates this season and, according to reports, the club are yet to decide if they’re going to trigger his contract extension clause or not!

“As far as I know, Makhaula is still an Orlando Pirates player. He has the option on the contract,” Makhehlene Makhaula’s agent, Sizwe Ntsangase, told iDiskiTimes.

“But I’d say whoever wants to speak about him, must contact the club.”
