Jamie Carragher believes Nottingham Forest will be concerned about relegation this season
Jamie Carragher believes the upturn in form among previously struggling teams will be a “huge concern” to Nottingham Forest.
Friday’s 2-0 defeat to Tottenham at the City Ground was the Reds’ third home loss in a row. Steve Cooper’s side have also won just one of their last 13 matches.
And Carragher has shared his fears for Cooper’s team as they endure a wretched run of form which has seen them slip towards the bottom three. He pointed out October’s 2-2 draw at home to Luton Town as a particular concern for Forest when they were 2-0 up before the Hatters fought back to earn a point.
“They will be concerned [about relegation], of course they will,” he told Sky Sports. “The teams around the bottom have started to come into a bit of form and are picking up points after taking so long to get off the mark.
“Luton are making it difficult. Luton are playing some of the best teams in the country and losing by the odd goal and being in games.
“There will be huge concern and that is why every time we do a Nottingham Forest game at the moment, people are talking about the manager’s job. The real killer one for me is when they were 2-0 up against Luton, and when that finished 2-2 you thought that was a bad result. That has to improve very quickly.”
