Yes, broccoli can make a great addition to the diet of someone with chronic kidney disease. Broccoli has a wide range of beneficial nutrients that aid in kidney repair and function including K, C and B Vitamins, manganese, magnesium and copper. Broccoli also has a low sodium content and a moderate potassium content making it a well balanced food source for well balanced kidney function.

Many people who have kidney disease need to limit minerals such as sodium, phosphorus and potassium. Broccoli is not high in any of these nutrients and can be consumed on a renal diet.
