The number of occupation forces in the Avdiivka area remains unchanged. Invaders maintain approximately 40,000 soldiers in this direction, according to the spokesperson for the Joint Press Center of the Tavria Defense Forces, Colonel Oleksandr Shtupun, during a televised marathon.
“Somewhere around, the enemy maintains a consistent personnel strength. They employ equipment from the depth, attempting not to keep it at the forefront since our soldiers promptly destroy it. The infantry takes cover in trenches. In the Avdiivka direction, it’s approximately 40,000 active personnel,” the spokesperson stated.
According to him, in the Tavria direction, the enemy suffered losses of 437 individuals and lost 60 military vehicles within a day. Among the occupant’s losses were one tank, 11 armored vehicles, and 10 artillery systems. Additionally, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to strike the Russian “TOR” anti-aircraft missile system.
Shtupun added that Russian invaders continue to actively use drones on the front. Just yesterday, defenders destroyed 27 enemy drones.
Fighting for Avdiivka
As a reminder, since the beginning of October, Russian soldiers have been actively assaulting the Avdiivka area. They seek to encircle and occupy the city.
In response, Ukrainian defenders are holding their ground, inflicting significant losses on the enemy. As of mid-December, the United States reported that in two months, Russians lost around 13,000 soldiers near Avdiivka.
