According to information from the French Ministry of Defense, one of the goals of the coalition is to provide Ukrainian defenders with capabilities to protect the country’s territory. The initiative also aims to build the future of Ukrainian artillery through ambitious and innovative industrial partnerships.

Reacting to the initiative, Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov thanked France and personally Minister of Defense Sébastien Lecornu for their leadership.
“A shortage of ammunition is a very real and pressing problem that our Armed Forces are facing at present,” emphasized the head of the Ministry of Defense.
Coalitions to assist Ukraine
Western allies of Ukraine have repeatedly formed coalitions to provide specific weaponry to the country.
Currently, there are five coalitions:
Anti-air defense Armored vehicles Aviation Naval Artillery
It’s worth noting that such initiatives involve not only the transfer of weapons but also training for Ukrainian defenders.
For example, within the aviation coalition, Ukrainian pilots are trained in operating multi-role F-16 fighter jets. These aircraft are planned to be transferred to Ukraine this year.
Ukraine is experiencing a shortage of artillery ammunition. Military expert Vladyslav Seleznov, in a comment to RBC-Ukraine, outlined the reasons for this shortage.
