Boy, 14, dies in Russian roulette game
MANILA, Philippines — A 14-year-old boy died when his cousin shot him, reportedly during a game of Russian roulette, in Tondo, Manila on Thursday.
Alexis Michael Santos was taking turns with his cousin, Edu Guillermo Crisostomo, 22, in aiming a .38-caliber revolver at each other’s head while they were in Guillermo’s house along Romana street in Barangay 96, according to a report from the Manila Police District (MPD).
On the third or fourth round of the game, the gun fired and the bullet hit Santos’ head at around 11:30 a.m., MPD homicide section chief Capt. Dennis Turla said.
Santos was pronounced dead at the Tondo Medical Center at past 6:30 p.m. from two gunshot wounds in the head, police said.
Crisostomo surrendered to police and is currently under the custody of the MPD’s homicide unit.
He insisted that he did not intend to kill his cousin, according to earlier reports.
