Rutgers landed a big commitment for the 2024 recruiting class Wednesday with four-star Antwan Raymond pledging to head coach Greg Schiano.
Raymond was previously in the 2025 recruiting cycle and was ranked as a 4-star running back out of Clearwater (Fla.) by Rivals. He picked the Scarlet Knights over USF, South Carolina, West Virginia, Miami, and Mississippi State.
The running back also had plenty of interest from multiple Power 4 programs. Arizona, Auburn, Boston College, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Iowa, Indiana, Kansas, Kansas State, Maryland, Minnesota, NC State, Pitt, and Texas A&M all offered the highly touted recruit.
Schiano led Rutgers to its first bowl win since 2014 last season. The Scarlet Knights defeated Miami in the Pinstripe Bowl to finish the year at 7-6.
One of the program’s most recent successes at running back has been Isiah Pacheco. Pacheco has accounted for 1,765 yards rushing in his first two NFL seasons and has also been used as a receiving option out of the backfield.
It seems that Raymond might want to follow in the footsteps of Pacheco at Rutgers.
