Pupils from Sooey NS helped a Sligo company get in the festive spirit ahead of Friday night’s Late Late Show.
Abtran, the Business Process Services company employing over 1,500 people in Cork and Sligo, supported Friday’s RTÉ Late Late Toy Show Appeal with host Patrick Kielty presenting the 48th edition of the show.
Abtran’s staff from its Sligo office at Finisklin and Cork HQ opened hundreds of phone lines accepting donations for children’s charities during the show’s broadcast as well as during its repeat airing over the weekend.
Abtran’s voluntarism is part of a larger community initiative with children from Sooey NS in Sligo, including children of Abtran staff, taking part in fun events to encourage donations to the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal.
The funds raised from this appeal will be managed by registered charity Community Foundation Ireland (RCN: 20044886), benefiting a range of children’s charitable causes across Ireland.
Last year’s RTÉ Late Late Toy Show had 1.6m viewers from Ireland and all over the world contributing to a total of €4 million raised for Irish charities across the island.
